Type in Arabic the way that suits you

Type Arabic text with the screen keyboard or your device's keyboard, then review and copy it or download it as Word or PNG. The i2Arabic keyboard allows you three ways to type with unified text formatting and right-to-left direction.

Three ways to access characters

Choose the quick panel for phonetic characters, the smart one for word suggestions, or the simple one for the Arabic keyboard layout.

More about Three ways to access characters

In the "Fast Keyboard", English letters correspond to Arabic sounds, and you can choose an alternative for the letter from the window that appears when available. This method is useful when you know the pronunciation of the word and do not memorize the positions of Arabic letters.

"Smart Keyboard" uses typing the word in English letters to display Arabic suggestions from the dictionary. Review the suggestion and choose the appropriate word; the suggestion is not a translation of an English sentence's meaning.

In the "Simple Keyboard", press the letters shown on the screen or the corresponding positions on your device's keyboard. This method is suitable when you want to control every letter, and the screen keys also work by touch.

Review words and diacritics in one place

Edit text directly, add available tags, and use undo when needed.

More about Review words and diacritics in one place

Click inside the editor to place the cursor, then type or paste existing text. You can select a word and replace it in the usual browser way, or insert a character at the cursor position using the on-screen keyboard.

Use diacritics when you need them, and review hamzas, ta marbuta, and punctuation marks yourself. The panel helps with input and does not automatically check the correctness of meaning or spelling.

"Clear text" removes the editor content. "Undo" allows reversing the last edit within the editing session, and "Redo" restores the edit you reversed; save an independent copy of important text.

Clear formatting for all text

Change the font, size, color, and direction from "Text Formatting", then view the result before downloading.

More about Clear formatting for all text

Open "Text Format" and choose the font family. The editor starts with Noto Kufi Arabic font and 20 pixel size, and the size can be adjusted between 12 and 120 pixels.

Bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, and color options are available. These settings apply to the entire text and to the Word files and images you save, and are not independent formatting for each specific word.

Keep the text direction right-to-left for Arabic paragraphs. Switching direction is useful when writing text that is predominantly Latin-based; the direction does not translate words or reverse letters. "Reset formatting" restores appearance settings to their default values.

Copy text or choose a save format

Keep editable text in Word, or save a PNG image to view its layout.

More about Copy text or choose a save format

"Copy text" places the text in your device's clipboard to paste into a message or document. Copying here is for the text; if you want to keep the visual appearance, choose the appropriate format.

"Save as Word (.docx)" downloads an editable document named i2arabic.docx. Font display in another program may vary if the same font is not available on the device.

"Save image" downloads a PNG image named i2arabic.png. Words appear inside the image and are not editable text within it. There are limits to text size and image dimensions; if the text is too long, save it in Word or split it into parts.

Continue draft in browser

The browser saves the text draft and editing preferences when local storage is allowed.

More about Continue draft in browser

Your text can return when reloading the page in the same browser. Each tab has its own draft while working, and a new tab may start with the last locally saved draft.

Local saving does not require an account, and does not sync the draft between your phone and computer or between browsers. Deleting site data or using a mode that prevents storage may remove the draft or prevent its recovery.

Download a file when the text is complete, especially if you are working on a shared device. Keep the file in a place of your choosing instead of relying on the browser draft alone.

Use your text in an external search

Select the search service below the panel then press "Open" to send the text to it.

More about Use your text in an external search

The "Search in your text" menu allows choosing services like Google, Bing, or Wikipedia, and also includes options for other sites. Type a clear search phrase then use "Open".

This step works outside i2Arabic, and the phrase is sent to the service you choose. Review the text before sending, and delete any information you do not want to share with that service.

Processing information

Character input, editing, and creating Word and PNG files work within the browser. When using smart suggestions, the current English word is sent to the site's dictionary service to obtain Arabic alternatives. External search sends the text to the chosen service, and other site services are subject to the privacy policy.
