About us
Sciweavers LLC in the United States manages the i2Arabic site. This policy includes the Arabic keyboard and text features, the TV channel directory, and the newspaper directory. For privacy-related inquiries and requests, contact via admin@sciweavers.org.
You do not need an account, password, or subscription to use the service. Visiting the website still involves some technical information, even when you never send editor text to a search service.
Information we handle
- Text and settings on your device: Editor content, a recoverable draft, appearance preferences, text formatting, and keyboard mode can be saved in browser storage.
- Technical and security information: IP address, browser and device information, requested pages, referral information, and request times and errors necessary to prevent misuse and operate the site.
- Live site analytics and ads: Page visits, usage information, and browser or device identifiers handled by Statcounter, Yandex Metrica, and Google AdSense, as described below.
- Messages you send to us: your email address and the information included in a support or privacy request.
- Smart suggestions: In smart mode, the keyboard sends the word being converted to the site's dictionary service, along with technical information accompanying the web request.
- Search and external links: When choosing external search, the current text opens as a query with the selected service. When opening a channel or newspaper, its site receives the visit request and applies its own privacy policy.
- Favorites: Your selections of channels and newspapers are saved locally in the browser and do not sync with a server account or other devices.
What happens to your text
Text editing, direct character input, copying, text formatting, and saving drafts and exporting work within your browser. Exporting does not upload your document to a file conversion service.
Smart mode is different: It sends the current word typed in Latin or Arabic characters to the dictionary service on the i2Arabic server to get Arabic suggestions. This request may start while typing in smart mode; it is not limited to pressing the external search button. The entire editor content is not sent with the suggestion request.
The site loads the software, fonts, and images necessary to display pages. Browser drafts may retain the text you type after leaving the page. See Cookie Policy to learn how to manage this storage.
When selecting a search service and pressing the Open button, the current text is included in the chosen service's query. Channel and newspaper links open their websites directly in a new tab, without embedding the broadcast or newspaper inside a frame in i2Arabic.
Why we use information
We use information to provide the keyboard, suggestions, downloads, channel guides, and newspapers, remember preferences, understand site usage, support the service with ads, respond to messages, prevent abuse, and fulfill legal obligations.
For these service activities, the legal bases, where required, are providing the service you request, our legitimate interests in security and reliable operation, and compliance with applicable legal obligations.
Browser drafts and keeping them
Editor drafts and preferences are saved in the browser and are not managed as a document archive in a server account. The smart suggestion service receives the current word for processing; requests for this service and site operation logs are different from the draft saved on your device.
Browser drafts and preferences remain until they are replaced, removed by the relevant feature, cleared through your browser, or removed by the browser itself. Tab session storage has a separate lifespan; restoring a browser session can affect it. See Cookie Policy.
The browser draft is a convenience, not a backup. Save important work using export. The copies you download remain under your control on your own device.
Security logs, operation logs, and correspondence are separate from browser drafts. We keep them as long as needed for their purpose, including investigating abuse, resolving a request, or meeting legal requirements.
Services and other recipients
Hosting and technical support services may handle operational information necessary for the site, including suggestion service requests and technical logs. Mail services handle messages you choose to send to us. Editor drafts and local exports remain separate from that.
We may disclose information when required by law, to respond to a legal request, or to protect people and the service from abuse. In the event of a business reorganization, information may transfer with the service, subject to the protections and notices required by law.
When opening a search service, channel site, newspaper, or any external link, the intended site receives the visit request and applies its own privacy practices. External search includes the text you choose to search for.
Ads and analytics
On the live site, we use Statcounter and Yandex Metrica to understand page visits and site usage, and Google AdSense to display automatic and contextual ads. These integrations are not loaded in local previews.
These services may receive page URLs, referrers, IP addresses, browser and device information, and usage data. They may use cookies or similar browser storage for analytics, serving and measuring ads, under their own privacy practices.
Restarting sessions in Yandex is disabled. We do not add editor content to analytics or advertising parameters. Drafts and exports remain within the browser, while the smart mode sends the current word to the dictionary service. See Cookie Policy to manage storage.
Security and international processing
We use site request safeguards and browser-based processing to minimize risks. No site, transmission method, or browser storage can guarantee complete security. Local drafts are accessible through the browser profile on your device; keep this in mind when using a shared computer or handling sensitive information.
Sciweavers LLC is headquartered in the United States. Hosting and support communications may involve other countries whose privacy rules differ from those in your country of residence. Applicable legal protections for international transfers remain in effect. Contact us if you need details about site operations or specific safeguards.
Privacy questions and requests
For privacy questions or requests regarding personal information we still hold, such as correspondence or operational logs, contact admin@sciweavers.org. Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, or object to its use. Browser drafts are managed on your device; we cannot recover text removed from your browser.
Children
The service is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Older minors must use the service with appropriate permission from a parent or guardian.
Changes to this policy
We update this page when our practices change, and we indicate the revision date above. Where necessary, we provide additional notice before a material change takes effect. Terms of Use explains the terms of use for the site and its tools.
